Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Volunteer Manager to join our team at the Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR). The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing our Volunteer Management System, recruiting and retaining volunteers, and providing individual support to individuals in recovery and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the Waterbury Recovery Community Center Volunteers, including scheduling, supervision, evaluation, and retention.
  • Facilitate volunteer trainings and provide ongoing development opportunities.
  • Provide individual support, system navigation, and resources to individuals in recovery and their families.
  • Assist with daily activities and special events related to volunteers.
  • Recruit volunteers and promote recovery support services in the local community.
  • Work with the RCC Manager to maintain a recovery-focused culture.
  • Promote the message and services of CCAR.
Requirements
  • Minimum of three years community organizing and/or volunteer management experience.
  • Positive attitude, motivational, and encouragement skills.
  • Experience in facilitating trainings.
  • Knowledge about addiction recovery a plus.
  • Strong customer service ethic.
  • Cross-cultural skills and experience with culturally diverse populations.
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication skills.
  • Organizational skills with keen attention to detail and ability to prioritize.
  • Computer skills and current technology experience.
  • Time management skills.
  • Self-starter, flexible, and team-oriented.
