Job Overview

The Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is seeking a Lead Compliance Business Analyst to join our Business Management division. In this role, you will independently support acquisition Policy & Assurance functions, ensuring that contracting activities are compliant and effectively connect resources to research initiatives. This position operates on an on-site 9x80 schedule, providing every other Friday off.

As a recognized subject matter expert in compliance, you will take the lead in coordinating assessment and assurance activities for the Acquisition & Contracts Management Organization, reporting directly to the Manager of Policy & Assurance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Department Manager on employee hiring decisions and performance evaluations, exercising significant discretion in setting goals and strategies for assignments.
  • Conduct assessments to ensure adherence to policies and benchmark against other laboratories to validate best practices, including the development and delivery of training for staff.
  • Oversee compliance responsibilities, which encompass developing compliance strategies, enhancing the compliance program, performing internal assessments, analyzing compliance data to manage risks, and supporting audits.
  • Engage with acquisitions, finance, business offices, internal audit, and records management to facilitate internal processes.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation to substantiate decisions, findings, and recommendations.
  • Protect INL's interests by identifying and evaluating risks, developing process improvements, and pinpointing areas for automation to enhance current workflows.
  • Address diverse challenges requiring thorough analysis of identifiable factors.
  • Devise solutions based on limited information and existing precedents, adapting approaches to resolve issues effectively.
  • Utilize evaluation and judgment to determine the most appropriate course of action.
  • Establish and refine procedures to optimize business efficiencies.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • LP Level 3: Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 2 years of relevant experience.
  • LP Level 4: Bachelor's degree with 9 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with managers and employees at all organizational levels.
  • Ensure compliance of files, contracts, and Procurement Summaries with established policies.
  • Currently possess or be capable of obtaining a Qualified Assessors Certification.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Salary range for this position: Level 3 - Salary grade 430 ($63,528 - $130,284) / Level 4 - Salary grade 440 ($75,804 - $155,496).
