Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Intensive English Adjunct to join our team at Olympic College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Intensive English courses to international students, providing quality instruction, and contributing to a diverse and inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Teach Intensive English courses, including reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, speaking, and listening, as well as American culture and TOEFL preparation.
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, assessments, and evaluations to meet the needs of diverse students.
- Provide individualized support and feedback to students, promoting academic success and language proficiency.
- Maintain accurate records, complete forms, and communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
- Participate in departmental meetings, contribute to curriculum development, and engage in professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in TESOL, ESOL, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Experience working with diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, with a focus on teaching English to non-native speakers.
- Basic computer competency and proficiency in educational technology.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in curriculum development, course design, and instructional technology.
- Knowledge of the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) Proficiency Guidelines and the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) exam.
