Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Music Adjunct Lecturer to join our faculty team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Music courses, including Music History, Theory, and Appreciation classes, to a diverse student population.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach assigned Music courses, following discipline and course outline guidelines
  • Prepare instructional materials, grade student work, and maintain accurate records
  • Submit records and requested documents for assigned courses as scheduled and requested by the discipline area, division office, and college
  • Be willing and able to teach face-to-face instruction at multiple campuses and remotely as needed
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Music (or Music Education) required
  • Minimum of two years' experience teaching Music, including to adults
  • College teaching experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Graduate-level knowledge of Music, including Music History, Appreciation, and Theory
  • Ability to teach college-level Music courses to a wide range of students
  • Effectively teach and support a diverse student population, including students whose native language is not English, those whose origins may not be in the United States, as well as a wide range of ages
Additional Information

This is an adjunct faculty position contracted on a quarterly basis. The salary listed is a range based on per quarter. A collective bargaining agreement exists, and this position is covered by the Association for Higher Education (AHE). Flexibility is required to meet the needs of the department. Evening and/or weekend classes, instruction at satellite Olympic College campuses, and off-campus assignments including travel to clinical sites may be part of the instructional load.

Adjunct positions at the college are open continuously and reviewed on a quarter-by-quarter basis. Individuals who apply to the applicant pool are considered active for a period of 12 months from the application date and may be contacted when vacancies occur.
