Pharmacy Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in assisting pharmacists with prescription preparation and delivery, ensuring accurate and efficient processing of patient information, and providing exceptional customer service to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Accurately locate and enter patient demographic information into pharmacy systems, perform necessary calculations to ensure proper dosage, directions, and quantity entered and selected.
- Assist patients in a timely and courteous manner with register transactions, telephone calls, and with OTC product location.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Meet performance expectations for Customer Service, Teamwork, Resource Utilization, and Staff and Self Development as outlined in performance review.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required with additional broad training in fields such as medical office administration, pharmacy technician, social services or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of Associate's degree program or pharmacy technician training program.
- Experience with direct patient counseling is required. 3-5 years of retail pharmacy technician experience or specialty pharmacy technician experience preferred.
- Registration with the State of Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection as a pharmacy technician is required by completion of probationary period, and active Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or equivalent certification is required on or within 1 year of date of hire.
- Strong customer service skills and independent problem solving is a requirement.
- Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritize and multitask frequently and quickly.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry medication patient assistance programs is preferred.
