We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Physical Therapist to join our team at Thom Child & Family Services. As an Early Intervention Physical Therapist, you will have the opportunity to work with infants and toddlers who have developmental delays or are at risk for delays in their cognitive, adaptive behavior, social-emotional, self-care, fine motor, gross motor, and communication development.

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will be able to engage in meaningful, therapeutic relationships with children, parents/caregivers, and community partners. You will participate in multidisciplinary team assessments of the client's developmental status and provide direct services and activities developmentally appropriate for children 0-3 and their families.

About the Position

This position requires a current licensure as a Physical Therapist by the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Allied Health Professions. Experience working with infants, toddlers, and families is preferred. You will need to assess family and child strengths/resources, concerns, and progress, and act as a service coordinator for the family by scheduling, developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the intervention plan for each family on caseload.

You will also provide supportive professional assistance to families and facilitate parent-child interactions to encourage child's development. The ability to abide by all confidentiality and professional boundaries standards is essential.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team assessments of the client's developmental status.
  • Provide direct services and activities developmentally appropriate for children 0-3 and their families.
  • Assess family and child strengths/resources, concerns, and progress.
  • Act as a service coordinator for the family by scheduling, developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the intervention plan for each family on caseload.
  • Provides supportive professional assistance to families.
  • Facilitate parent-child interactions to encourage child's development.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Physical Therapist by the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Allied Health Professions.
  • Experience with infants, toddlers, and families is preferred.
  • Knowledge of family systems and early childhood development.
  • Ability to engage in meaningful, therapeutic relationships with children, parents/caregivers, and community partners.
  • Commitment to delivering individualized and culturally humble services.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
  • Abide by all confidentiality and professional boundaries standards.
  • Good computer skills as well as strong documentation skills.
