Overview

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a dedicated Facilities Operations Maintenance Technician to join our Facilities Management team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leverage your technical expertise to conduct preventive maintenance, repairs, and installations on building systems to ensure efficient operation of facilities.
  • Deliver exceptional service to faculty, staff, and students, supporting the mission of the organization.
  • Assess and document system issues using diagnostic tools, prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Provide high-quality workmanship to improve system reliability and reduce unexpected downtime.

Essential Qualifications
  • Extensive experience in commercial building maintenance
  • Skilled in repairing and servicing various building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interpret drawings, plans, specifications, and scopes of work
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools and power equipment
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Valid Virginia Driver's License
  • Proven experience in promoting diversity within the workforce
Preferred Skills
  • EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification is preferred
