Earthwork Heavy Equipment Operator Job Description

Lens Excavating Inc is seeking a skilled Earthwork Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. As a family-owned business, we've been serving the front range since 1968, with a focus on medium and large-scale civil construction projects. Our ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy equipment such as skid steers, excavators, loaders, blades, dozers, and water trucks.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate effectively in English
  • Read and interpret grade stakes, site markings, maps, blueprints, and drawings for soil movement
  • Operate and maintain grade control devices within tolerance levels
  • Mix and compact dirt for backfill and compaction testing
  • Understand and enforce all safety requirements for excavation and trenching
  • Convey and receive information from supervisors and co-workers
  • Safely operate equipment and maintain awareness of surroundings
  • Perform pre and post equipment checks and report issues to supervisors
  • Maintain assigned equipment and perform daily inspections
