Job Title: Activities Coordinator - Geropsychiatric Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Activities Coordinator to join our Geropsychiatric team at UnityPoint Health Finley Hospital. As an Activities Coordinator, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and coordinating therapeutic patient activities to promote physical, emotional, and social well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and implement daily events, special events, and in-services for staff participating in the activity therapy program.
  • Conduct activity therapy group sessions, utilizing good theoretical knowledge of group principles and techniques.
  • Complete activity therapy assessments in a timely manner.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning.
  • Effectively participate in the referral development process as a member of the Referral Development Committee.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy.
  • At least 1 year of prior experience in recreational or activity therapy.
  • RRT (Registered Recreational Therapist) or CTRS (Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist) certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
