Are you passionate about teaching others how to swim and making a positive impact on your community?
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Swim Instructor to join our team at the YMCA of Columbia Willamette.
Responsibilities- Plan and deliver swim lessons using the YMCA Swim Lesson Curriculum
- Recognize and correct strokes and skills using positive feedback
- Communicate effectively with students and parents in a friendly and patient manner
- Track and log swim lesson participant skill progression
- Stay up-to-date with the latest swim techniques and best practices through ongoing training and professional development
- Be at least 16 years old
- Have a strong understanding of swim stroke techniques
- Possess a current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification (or be willing to obtain one within 30 days)
- Be able to pass a written and physical assessment prior to duty
- Have the ability to observe participant activities, enforce safety regulations, and apply appropriate policies and procedures
