Responsibilities:


The Patient Care Services Coordinator II serves as the initial point of contact for telephone inquiries from patients, healthcare providers, internal and external laboratories, imaging facilities, hospital staff, family members, and vendors. This role is crucial in delivering outstanding customer service and ensuring effective communication by appropriately managing phone calls and messages.

In addition to handling calls, the Coordinator may undertake various responsibilities, including but not limited to collecting and updating patient demographics and insurance details, verifying health plan eligibility, accurately taking messages, and scheduling appointments using an electronic practice management system.

The Coordinator may also be tasked with other administrative duties as required to support the daily operational goals and quality care initiatives of the clinic, in alignment with established guidelines.

This position may involve access to sensitive financial information and transactional systems related to credit card processing, ensuring compliance with privacy and security protocols.

The Patient Care Services Coordinator II is also responsible for managing referrals, authorizations, pre-registration, and patient preparation.

Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a minimum of one (1) year of experience in a similar role or equivalent experience. Familiarity with electronic practice management systems is essential. Competency in medical terminology and proficiency in relevant software applications are required. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills are critical for success in this position.

Proficient keyboarding skills and the ability to operate standard office equipment and software are necessary. Completion of a medical terminology course or equivalent experience is also required.
