Speech Language Pathologist Job Description

Spectrum Center Schools and Programs is seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a critical role in providing speech therapy services to designated students, helping them achieve their speech therapy goals and improve their overall communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and develop individualized speech therapy programs for each student, based on their unique needs and goals.
  • Implement and monitor speech therapy services, providing progress information to students, parents, and educators.
  • Employ evidence-based speech therapy strategies and techniques to improve students' communication skills, receptive and expressive language, cognition, and memory.
  • Write periodic reviews of students' progress, update treatment teams, and make necessary changes to service.
  • Manage case records, maintain accurate documentation, and complete billing session documentation within 24 hours of client visits.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with families, scheduling sessions and making up sessions as needed.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, such as social workers, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists, to ensure comprehensive support for students.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field.
  • Current state speech language pathology (SLP) license or ability to obtain.
  • Prior experience working with students with diverse needs in an educational setting, with a proven track record of developing and implementing effective treatment plans.
  • Advanced motivational, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment, with a strong sense of humor and a stellar work ethic.
