Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at OhioHealth. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in providing accurate and timely patient test results for the diagnosis and management of human illness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform various laboratory tests and procedures to analyze patient specimens, including blood, tissue, fecal matter, sputum, urine, and spinal fluid.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including automated analyzers and microscopes.
  • Ensure quality control and quality assurance of laboratory results, including calibration and maintenance of equipment.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide accurate and timely test results, and to troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with new technologies and techniques.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field.
  • Registered by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent certification.
  • Superior customer service skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience in an automated clinical laboratory setting.

Work Environment:

This is a full-time position working night shifts, with a scheduled 40 hours per week. The department is Core Lab.
