Transportation Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Transportation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our transportation department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and timely transportation of students to and from school.
Key Responsibilities- Operate a vehicle with a fixed or changing route, providing safe and reliable transportation service to students.
- Report to duty on time and maintain routes on schedule, ensuring timely arrival and departure of students.
- Physically assist passengers in evacuation of the vehicle in case of emergency.
- Immediately report any accidents or incidents to the appropriate personnel.
- Follow company policies and procedures for student and passenger management.
- Inform all relevant personnel of problems or procedures.
- Present a neat and professional personal appearance at all times.
- Complete all required paperwork, including route change sheets and time cards, and submit to the appropriate staff member in a timely manner.
- Maintain a cooperative attitude with fellow employees, supervisors, customers, and passengers, promoting company goodwill.
- Safely and efficiently utilize vehicle equipment, including wheelchair lifts, radios, and emergency equipment.
- Must be at least 21 years of age (25 years of age for Tennessee School Bus Drivers).
- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain all valid applicable state licenses and other required certifications to operate company vehicles.
- Must meet physical and medical requirements and pass substance abuse screening.
- Must satisfactorily complete and pass all training.
- Must practice defensive driving at all times and avoid vehicular and industrial accidents by practicing safe driving and work habits.
- Compliance with all applicable federal, state, county, district, and contract-specific driver requirements.
