Job Summary

The University of Arkansas System is seeking a skilled Cardiovascular Cath Lab and Electrophysiology Lab Technologist to join our team. This role involves working under supervision, reading and interpreting health record documentation to identify diagnoses and procedures affecting outpatient encounters. The successful candidate will also be responsible for producing Cath Lab images for medical interpretation and assisting physicians with diagnostic and therapeutic vascular interventional procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for procedures by reviewing medical history, draping, and positioning the patient, preparing procedural/testing sites, and administering contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
  • Assist physicians with performing diagnostic and therapeutic vascular interventional procedures.
  • Perform related imaging procedures.
  • Analyze results and take appropriate action to resolve image quality issues.
  • Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure patient understanding and cooperation.
  • Assist with monitoring patient condition continually and report/respond to changes in status as appropriate.
  • Prepare equipment and supplies.
  • Implement safety standards and perform quality control procedures on equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, resolve, and/or report equipment malfunctions as necessary.
Requirements
  • HS/GED with professional license/certification registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a high-pressure situation.
