About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Technician to join our team at Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital. As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
  • Identify patient physical care and comfort needs, perform care, and document their disposition.
  • Perform routine procedures as designated, including assisting with Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) preparation and providing care as designated by the Registered Nurse pre-op and post-op.
  • Collect data through observation, provide clinical expertise in the evaluation and treatment of patients, and promote optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in the identification of patients' learning needs, plan and organize group activities, and implement safe milieu interventions consistent with treatment goals.
  • Carry out specific interventions to assure patient safety, including rounds, primary searches, and visitor control.
  • Comply with documentation policy and procedures according to Behavioral Health Medicine guidelines.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Health may substitute two years Behavioral Medicine/Health experience.
  • Two years of experience in Behavioral Medicine/Health Field or equivalent advanced education.
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training (NVCI) within 14 days of hire and prior to patient contact.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge to recognize signs and symptoms of Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) based diagnosis.
  • General knowledge of Modes of Treatment and appropriate interventions.
