Job SummaryThe LPN will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. This includes processing and applying a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures for the competent delivery of nursing care. The successful candidate will also be responsible for complying with standards of practice, coordinating stress lab schedules, and ensuring promptness and accuracy during non-invasive procedures.
Responsibilities- Maintain scheduled procedures in a timely manner
- Greet patients, complete assessments, and associated paperwork for procedures ordered
- Explain procedures and assess patients for accuracy of tests ordered through ECIS and notify physicians in stress lab rotations if necessary
- Prepare patients for ordered procedures and assist with Echo & Vascular studies if necessary
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members in response to patient and family needs
- Notify physicians assigned to stress lab or any abnormalities
- Complete all paperwork associated with tests performed, including copying and faxing of reports and placement of completed charts in appropriate locations
- Responsible for compliance in respective clinical areas, including medical record documentation and clinical notes in ECIS, and patient privacy
- Follow physician orders, including patient education and maintaining education booklets, education, and application of event and/or Holter monitors, scanning of Holter monitors (if cross-trained), performing venipuncture, and completing associated paperwork for lab through ECIS
- Provide physicians and/or patients with prescribed medication samples
- Assist with ordering and stocking supplies and medications, including maintaining supply logs with par levels for lab and ordering supplies in a timely manner
- Maintain crash carts, including check defibrillators, crash cart daily logs, and documenting on logs
- Keep logs of medication expiration and replacements
- Maintain O2 cylinders and supplies and order replacements as needed
- Maintains current skills checklists and assists with performing skills checklists on other employees
- Identifies and implements infection control and safety practices
- Complies with OSHA regulations
- Conducts at least one clinically related in-service for center staff during review years
- Cross-trains if necessary to perform basic radiological, laboratory, and other functions as necessary
- Currently licensed as an LPN in the State of Georgia
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2 years of experience
- Current ACLS certification
- Successful completion of nursing skills checklist
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
