Baptist Health is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nutrition Specialist to join our team. As a Registered Dietitian, you will play a critical role in providing clinical and public health nutritional assessment, education, and services to patients.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Nutritional Care Plans: Assess patient needs and develop personalized plans to ensure optimal nutrition and health outcomes.
- Provide Education and Counseling: Educate patients on good nutrition practices, assess diet history and food habits, and provide counseling on special diets.
- Evaluate Nutrient Adequacy: Determine appropriate calorie levels and evaluate nutrient adequacy to make recommendations for improvement.
- Conduct Group Sessions: Plan and conduct group sessions for weight reduction and control, and provide follow-up evaluation by telephone and office visits.
- Maintain Patient Records: Include summary of dietary assessment and plans in medical records, and prepare, review, and maintain current institutional materials on nutrition and dietary guidance.
- Serve as Nutrition Resource Contact: Serve as the nutrition information resource contact for all patient and community inquiries, and participate in dietary education department projects, screening, and other programs.
- Participate in Professional Development: Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations, and maintain patient confidentiality.
- AR License for Registered Dietitian: Must have an active AR license for Registered Dietitian.
- Experience in Clinic Setting: One year of nutrition experience in a clinic setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of Nutrition Principles: Knowledge of nutrition and dietary principles to direct high-quality nutritional care.
- Knowledge of Diet and Nutrition Programs: Knowledge of diet and nutritional assistance programs to make referrals.
- Instructional Skills: Knowledge of instructional skills and educational techniques to influence and guide nutritional care of patients for health maintenance.
- Effective Communication: Ability to communicate clearly and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public.
