**About the Role**

AECOM is seeking a Senior Traffic Simulation Engineer to join our New York Metro Region team. This is a hybrid office/remote role based out of our NYC office.

As a Senior Traffic Simulation Engineer, you will support the New York Metro Planning Manager in managing traffic projects and client relations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing traffic simulation projects, preparing draft scopes and fees, and managing tasks, schedules, changes, issues, quality, budget, and project financials.
  • Supporting/leading traffic microsimulation projects, creating, developing, and running complex Vissim and Aimsun traffic simulations.
  • Leading traffic tasks in business development efforts, getting involved in professional organizations, meeting new potential clients, and supporting proposal development.
  • Conducting/Managing Traffic Engineering studies that include traffic generation, simulation/modeling, analyzing crash data sets, and traffic impact analyses.
  • Performing Concept development of Traffic Engineering plans, layouts of geometric configurations that support traffic analysis, including signs, markings, traffic signals, and traffic management plans/temporary traffic control.
  • Supporting design-bid-build and design-build projects with traffic analysis for urban environments.
  • Staying up-to-date on new technologies and industry trends.
  • Serving as a senior technical resource and technical advisor for the team.

**Requirements**

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Civil Engineering or relevant degree with a focus on transportation + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • 2 years of project management experience.
  • 3 years of Aimsun & Vissun experience.
  • 4 years managing projects.
  • Master's degree is beneficial.
  • Current PE License is preferred.
  • Strong client relationship building skills.
  • Strong communication and writing skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Experience with and knowledge of New York City DOT procedures and practices.
  • Signal Control, Transit Signal Priority, and other traffic signal technology experience is preferred.
  • Experience with data platforms such as Streetlight Data is preferred.
  • PTOE preferred.
  • AICP preferred.
