Emergency Veterinary Technician Role at BluePearl Pet Hospital

We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency and Critical Care department at BluePearl Pet Hospital in Augusta.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia in patients, utilizing proper technique and anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
  • Triage emergency cases upon arrival, including obtaining vital signs such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
  • Perform digital radiography using proper positioning of patients.
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of normal patient vital signs, including heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
  • Obtain and interpret blood pressure and vital signs, alerting veterinarians to changes and issues.
  • Identify patients at risk of arrest and initiate CPR.
  • Properly calculate medical math, administer medications via appropriate routes and duration, and perform phlebotomy and intravenous catheter placement.
  • Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
  • Have a passion for mentoring and training co-workers, as well as patience and empathy to address client concerns.
