Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of operations related to the installation, repair, and maintenance of our general plant, machinery, and auxiliaries. You will work with various machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, and grinders, to repair or fabricate parts. Your duties will also include setting up and operating equipment, making repairs, and performing general maintenance duties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work from drawings, sketches, and manufacturers' machine manuals to move and install machines and equipment, make repairs, and perform general maintenance duties.
  • Diagnose and repair less complex machine and equipment trouble, tear down units, replace defective parts or mechanisms, reassemble, and try out.
  • Assist with the leveling, aligning, and securing of machines, equipment, and attachments as necessary.
  • Install various attachments, such as pumps, ducts, motors, tanks, guards, brackets, and other accessories.
  • Inspect completed repairs, requisition new parts and equipment.
  • Perform plumbing and pipefitting installations to maintain air, water, oil, steam lines, and circulating systems, repair toilets, pumps, valves, leaks, and drainage systems.
  • Perform less complex carpentry and masonry operations in general maintenance of the building, pour concrete foundations for machine tools, and perform ordinary welding and brazing operations as required.
  • Detect defective materials or unusual conditions and report to proper supervision.
  • Order cost-effective replacement parts and materials.
  • Maintain equipment and work area in a safe and orderly condition.
  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Responsible for the proper handling and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste in accordance with local, state, and federal requirements.
Job Essentials:
  • Working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics, machine and equipment construction and operation, and familiarity with various maintenance trades.
  • Assist the maintenance team with other facility repairs and maintenance, including but not limited to, snow removal, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, HVAC, and cleaning.
  • Possess good communication and interpersonal skills and be able to independently solve problems while interacting with various teams and teammates on daily processes and flow.
  • Capable of multi-tasking various duties throughout the day.
Basic Qualifications and Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience working in a hands-on industrial mechanic experience role.
  • Have the flexibility to work an on-call schedule due to the needs of the business.
