Medical Assistant

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at Nirvana Healthcare Management Services. As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and answer basic questions in a professional and courteous manner.
- Measure and record patient vital signs, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Update patient medical history, reason for visit, and treatment description in a timely and efficient manner.
- Handle administrative tasks such as faxes, appointments, and chart reviews with precision and organization.
- Communicate effectively with pharmacy technicians to maintain accurate medication reconciliations.
- Administer vaccines and/or other injectables as required, following established protocols.
- Provide patient education on in-office services and entitlements, promoting patient understanding and satisfaction.
- Restock examination rooms to maintain a clean and organized environment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned, including triage, scribing, and ancillary work.
Requirements:
- Fluency in English, Spanish, Portuguese, or Creole is required.
- Ability to work at least one Saturday per month, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
- Proficiency in basic medical terminology, ensuring accurate communication and documentation.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) is essential for efficient data management.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA regulations is crucial for maintaining patient confidentiality and safety.
- Application of infection control protocols is vital for preventing the spread of infections.
- Personable, team-oriented, and possessing excellent communication skills, with a professional demeanor and composure under pressure.
- Excellent time management skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to precision and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and writing skills, including the ability to write clear notes and brief reports.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Certification from a recognized professional organization, such as NCCT, NHA, or AAMA, is essential.
- Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) are required.
