We are currently seeking an ElasticSearch Infrastructure Specialist to become a vital part of our Mission Technology and Solutions Division. This role is based in a collaborative Agile environment and focuses on supporting a significant enterprise ElasticSearch deployment. The specialist will be responsible for the design, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of ElasticSearch environments, both in cloud (AWS) and on-premises settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the management of ElasticSearch clusters within a cloud-based framework across multiple availability zones.
  • Ensure optimal performance and operational continuity of the ElasticSearch clusters.
  • Assess and enhance existing ElasticSearch configurations, including indexing, search performance tuning, security, and administration.
  • Maintain the necessary infrastructure to uphold performance and data integrity.
  • Facilitate timely upgrades of ElasticSearch clusters, aligning with application dependencies.
  • Configure and customize clusters to address various developmental and business requirements.
  • Optimize indexing strategies to fulfill business objectives (e.g., logging, enterprise search).
  • Diagnose and resolve issues within the clusters, ranging from minor errors to significant failures.
  • Collaborate closely with architecture, engineering, development, and operations teams to ensure scalability and stability in production.
  • Guarantee the security of the ElasticSearch cluster.
  • Implement and adhere to Elastic best practices.
  • Establish appropriate monitoring and alerting mechanisms for ElasticSearch.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in ElasticSearch Administration.
  • Proven experience in maintaining and integrating ElasticSearch within an operational enterprise information system.
  • Experience in an Agile development setting.
  • Familiarity with deploying and utilizing ElasticSearch in Commercial Cloud Platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Security Clearance:
Candidates must possess a current TS/SCI security clearance with Polygraph.
