Pediatric Urology Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Pediatric Outpatient Urology Technician. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to children undergoing urologic procedures.
Job DescriptionAs a Pediatric Outpatient Urology Technician, you will be responsible for assisting with patient care, preparing patients for procedures, and maintaining a safe and supportive environment. Your duties will include:
- Demonstrating patient care concepts and verifying patient identity using two identifiers.
- Collaborating with team members to provide a safe and supportive environment for patients.
- Performing patient care responsibilities consistent with age-specific criteria under the supervision of a registered nurse.
You will also be responsible for respecting patient rights, performing shaving and clipping as required, and recognizing the physical, spiritual, and psychological needs of patients and families.
In addition, you will demonstrate knowledge of sterile technique and apply these techniques when assisting with procedures. You will also prepare items and instruments for sterilization, receive and sort decontaminated equipment, and clean surgical items using correct disinfection techniques.
Your attention to detail and commitment to patient safety will ensure that all patients receive high-quality care and support.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
- CNA or other educational equivalent (Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy Technician, Student Nurse who has completed one semester of clinical experience).
- Either 2 years of relevant direct patient care experience or education above.
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and patients.
The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 - $75,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
