Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Lead Teacher to join our team at Junior Order United American Mechanics Children's Home, Inc. As a Lead Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing a supportive and nurturing environment for our young students, promoting their physical, emotional, and intellectual growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Plan and implement Developmentally Appropriate Activities that align with the NC Foundations Curriculum, promoting growth and achievement of developmental milestones for each child.
  • Classroom Management: Oversee classroom education, indoor and outdoor play, nutrition, and rest to ensure the safety and well-being of all children in care.
  • Communication: Communicate directly with parents and prospective parents to share developmental observations, set goals, share daily achievements, and address concerns using a team approach that supports the individual needs and successes of the child.
  • Staff Development: Participate in staff development opportunities with the Director and fellow teachers to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in ECE preferred.
  • Training: EDU 119 plus 6 additional credit hours in Early Childhood Education required; Qualifying Letter from NC Division of Child Development and Early Education required.
  • Certifications: CPR and First Aid certified or willingness to complete certification within the first 30 days of employment.
  • Competencies: Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality care and education to young children.
