Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified adjunct lecturer in Exercise Science at Benedictine University. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a variety of courses, including experiential classes such as Beginning and Advanced Yoga, Weight Training, Strength and Conditioning, General Physical Fitness, and Beginning and Advanced Pilates.

Responsibilities and Duties:

- Teach and develop curriculum for Exercise Science courses
- Develop and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Collaborate with department faculty to ensure a cohesive and well-rounded curriculum
- Meet departmental and university expectations for teaching, research, and service

Requirements and Qualifications:

- Doctoral or Master's degree in a related field (such as Kinesiology or Sport Science) preferred
- Substantial experience with physical fitness, and where applicable, the specialized area (such as yoga or Pilates)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Physical Demands:

- Regularly required to talk or hear
- Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to touch, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms

Work Environment:

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use a computer screen, phone, and customer service
- May require bending or sitting for long periods of time

Benefits and Compensation:

- Estimated annual salary: $60,000 - $80,000, depending on qualifications and experience
- Part-time, non-benefit eligible position
