Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and submit complete financial statements to the manufacturer and management in accordance with established timeframes.
  • Financial Analysis: Interpret and analyze financial statements to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Cash Management: Develop and maintain an effective cash management system to ensure the dealership's financial stability.
  • Accounting Operations: Manage the day-to-day accounting operations of the store, ensuring all transactions are recorded in compliance with dealership accounting processes and policies.
  • Internal Controls: Manage and safeguard the dealership's assets, ensuring internal controls are in place to prevent financial mismanagement.
  • Team Leadership: Assist department managers in reading and interpreting their financial reports, and create action plans to improve their operations.
  • Communication: Respond to requests for information and assistance in a timely manner, and work with the General Manager to improve revenue or reduce expenses to meet or exceed budget.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of three years as a controller in an automotive dealership.
  • Skills: Working knowledge of dealership financial statements, ability to explain technical financial information in an understandable manner, and excellent communication skills.
