Salary: $11.50 Hourly (Locality Pay Included)
JOB SUMMARY: This role is situated within the Fitness Division, Aquatics Branch of the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department. The main objective of this position is to execute lifeguard responsibilities, ensuring the safety of individuals utilizing the indoor or outdoor swimming facilities.
MAJOR DUTIES:
- Conducts surveillance at both indoor and outdoor swimming pools.
- Monitors the activities of patrons in the aquatic area to guarantee adherence to safety regulations.
- Assists in maintaining cleanliness and safety in and around the pool area.
- Provides guidance to swimmers regarding safety protocols and procedures.
- Performs rescues and administers first aid when necessary.
- Completes additional tasks as assigned by the pool supervisor.
- Educates swimmers on water safety and ensures compliance with all safety guidelines.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Must hold a valid Red Cross Lifeguard certification or an equivalent qualification.
- Current First Aid and CPR certifications are mandatory.
- Must possess a current Lifeguard Certification, CPR, and First Aid certifications.
- Should be a responsible individual capable of managing a diverse group of individuals.
- Minimum age requirement is 16 years.
- Must maintain a professional and tidy appearance.
NOTE: Required certifications must be submitted with your application for consideration.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Participation in direct deposit/electronic funds transfer is required within the first 30 days of employment.
