About the Role:
We are seeking a talented Radar Systems Engineer II to join our team at RTX. In this role, you will be responsible for helping to identify issues, generate solutions, and verify the solutions are implemented as designed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Development of concepts of operations for radar systems
- Radar processing algorithm development
- Radar software requirements development
- Statistical and numerical analysis of radar performance data
- Analysis tool development in support of problem identification and resolution
- Collaboration with Systems and Software Engineers to develop and implement solutions
- Presentation of findings and solutions to Leadership and/or Customers
Additional Focus Areas:
Signal processing and waveform design, electronic protection methods, phased array and digital beamforming technology, radar search, track and discrimination design, target and threat modeling, integration and test of large radar systems, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
Requirements:
- Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 2 years of prior relevant experience.
- In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- An active and in-scope Secret US security clearance.
- Experience with design, development, and analysis of radar system and software architectures.
- Experience with signal processing techniques in complex propagation environments.
- Design experience in the following radar system areas; antenna, receiver/exciter, waveforms, digital beamforming, multi-sensor track management and data fusion, adaptive signal processing, clutter mitigation techniques, electronic attack and electronic protect, sensor resource management and mission planning.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Requirements development experience, including use of DOORS.
- Experience with MATLAB/Python/C++.
- Experience with technical writing and oral presentations.
- Masters/PhD in a STEM field.
