POSITION OVERVIEW:

This role encompasses a comprehensive behavioral evaluation, which includes observing the client's actions, identifying triggers, and recognizing motivators. The Licensed Behavior Analyst is responsible for creating a detailed behavior intervention plan, overseeing the implementation of strategies, and training other staff members to achieve specific behavioral targets. This service aims to address challenging behaviors that hinder the child/client's effective functioning.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

● Conducts Functional Behavior Assessments: Performs descriptive and systematic evaluations, including functional analyses, and offers behavior analytic insights based on the findings. In cases of severe behaviors, this may involve controlled functional analysis for safe testing.

● Records observations of the client in various settings, including home and community.

● Designs and oversees behavior analytic strategies.

● Engages in structured discussions with the client, family, and relevant parties regarding behavioral concerns.

● Completes a comprehensive written functional behavioral assessment.

● Formulates a targeted treatment plan that specifies measurable objectives and interventions (e.g., skills training, reinforcement strategies, removal of triggers, gradual exposure to triggers) aimed at reducing or improving specific behaviors related to the client's mental health conditions.

● Establishes specific objectives and interventions to be included in the client's risk management/safety plan.

● Provides guidance to parents/guardians/caregivers on implementing strategies outlined in the behavior management plan and monitors progress in at least two goal areas.

● Collaborates closely with behavior technicians/paraprofessionals to ensure the effective execution of treatment and safety plans, making necessary adjustments as required.

● Supervises the implementation of behavior analytic interventions by other staff members.

QUALIFICATIONS:

● Board Certified by the BACB (BCBA);

● Licensed as an applied behavior analyst (LABA) in Massachusetts;

● Credentialed by CAQH.

REPORTING STRUCTURE:

● Clinical oversight provided by the BACB (Board of Applied Behavior Analysts).

● Reports to the CEO for non-clinical matters.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:

Responsible for maintaining BCBA certification, Massachusetts license as an allied mental health professional (LABA), and credentialing with funding sources.
