Job Summary

Inova Health System is seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team in Burke, Virginia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure quality specimens for Laboratory testing by recognizing pre-analytical factors that adversely affect patient results.
  • Operate systems/methodologies to produce timely and accurate data for patients, quality control, and proficiency testing.
  • Report clinical data accurately and efficiently.
  • Participate in departmental development by demonstrating operational knowledge and adhering to regulatory standards.
  • Communicate effectively and work cooperatively with team members to optimize job performance and foster working relationships.
Requirements
  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college/university including biological science, chemistry, and mathematics courses.
  • Years of Experience: 3 years of experience in an accredited laboratory under the supervision of a pathologist certified by the American Board of Pathology.
  • Certification: ASCP Certification consistent with the scope of responsibility (MLS/MT, MLT, HT, HTL, BB, C, H, M, CT) or American Medical Technologists (AMT) or Laboratory Technologist Certification (HEW).
