Job Summary

The University of New Mexico Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Comprehensive Ophthalmologist to join our expanding team. This recruitment is open to candidates at any rank and track, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to a rapidly growing department within a renowned academic institution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a thriving clinical practice within the UNM Hospital Eye Clinic
  • Shared responsibilities for on-call duties
  • Active participation in the education of medical students and residents
Requirements
  • Completion of an Ophthalmology Residency Program
  • Board certified/eligible in Ophthalmology
  • Eligible for licensure in New Mexico
  • Eligible to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in clinical education
  • Experience in clinical research
  • Experience with comprehensive ophthalmology and ophthalmic procedures commonly performed by comprehensive ophthalmologists
  • Experience with basic medical retina and pediatric ophthalmology care
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, and to serving a broadly diverse community
