Position Summary:

The Front Desk Receptionist plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service to both patients and staff while providing essential support for the office operations. This position requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure a welcoming and professional atmosphere for patients, demonstrating a commitment to excellent service.
  • Manage appointment scheduling and assist with any additional testing as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Compile and verify all necessary patient documentation for daily appointments.
  • Collect co-payments and outstanding balances during check-in, accurately entering them into the Practice Management system.
  • Review and input patient demographics and clinical information into Practice Management and Electronic Health Records (EHR) with precision.
  • Scan and store patient identification and insurance documents securely.
  • Obtain and process all required referrals, ensuring they are linked to the corresponding appointments in the system.
  • Reconcile daily payment batches and submit them to the Site Manager.
  • Coordinate follow-up procedures and assist with scheduling local Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) cases.
  • Support patients in completing the Phreesia registration process.
  • Travel to other office locations as needed within a reasonable geographic area.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of two years of front office experience, preferably in a healthcare environment.
  • At least one to two years of customer service experience.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD-9, and CPT-4 coding.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient in computer software and database management.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Comfortable engaging with patients through effective questioning.
  • Demonstrates a caring and compassionate demeanor.
  • Adheres to HIPAA regulations.
  • Capable of multitasking and proactive problem-solving.
  • Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute.
Travel Requirements:
  • Willingness to travel to other locations as necessary.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, speaking, and listening.
  • Frequent lifting or moving of up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
