Diagnostic X-Ray Technologist Job Description

QuadMed is seeking a skilled Diagnostic X-Ray Technologist to join our Health and Wellness Center in Newport News, VA. As a Diagnostic X-Ray Technologist, you will be responsible for operating radiologic equipment to make clinical diagnostic x-ray films as directed by physicians or midlevel providers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform diagnostic procedures on patients to meet established practice parameters and standards of care.
  • Provide for the physical and psychological needs of pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients during the procedure.
  • Maintain accurate patient and department records.
  • Work as a member of the healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, in diagnostic testing procedures.
  • Adhere to medical and surgical asepsis and standard precautions as required per procedure.
  • Perform clerical duties, process images, and maintain proper inventory of supplies.
  • Assist in the clinical education of other healthcare professionals and patients.
  • Assist with quality control and performance improvement measures as required.
  • Maintain licensure and certification through continuing education.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
  • EMR experience preferred.
  • Registered and certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or registry eligible, obtaining registry within six (6) months of hire.
  • Licensed by the state of practice.
  • Current CPR (BLS) certification or must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
