Financial Services Representative

1. Objective:
To facilitate monetary transactions and maintain accurate records of cash and negotiable instruments involved in financial dealings. This role is subject to oversight and/or evaluation by management and regulatory bodies without prior notice.
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm and Saturday 8:30am – 12:00pm
Compensation: $18.00 per hour

2. Key Responsibilities:
Primary Duties:
a) Execute financial transactions, including receiving checks and cash for deposits, verifying amounts, reviewing checks for endorsements, and processing loan and credit card payments.
b) Maintain a friendly, professional demeanor while assisting members in person or over the phone.
c) Educate members about available financial products, such as money orders, teller checks, ATM and VISA cards, and promote cross-selling opportunities.
d) Provide members with account information and loan payoff amounts.
e) Manage incoming mail and telephone transfers, assisting members or directing calls to appropriate departments.
f) Reconcile cash drawer daily and maintain accurate Teller Balance Records in compliance with established procedures.
g) Collect payments on returned checks.
h) Understand and adhere to the Bank Secrecy Act, including the completion of currency transaction reports.
i) Ensure compliance with Credit Union Quality Standards in all duties performed.
j) Stay informed about all services and products offered by the Credit Union and actively promote these to members.
k) Uphold a professional appearance and adhere to company policies, including the Code of Ethics and attendance guidelines.
l) Participate in training programs designed to enhance skills, including both in-house and external training opportunities.
m) Acquire and maintain knowledge of Federal and State regulations, as well as Credit Union Bylaws and Policies, to ensure compliance.
n) Travel to other branches as required.
o) Perform additional duties as assigned.
Secondary Duties:
p) Assist in the monthly reconciliation of the money order account.
q) Provide training to new tellers.
r) Complete loan verification reports as needed.
s) Manage daily imaging of checks.
t) Oversee daily ATM operations and assist with replenishments.
3. Reporting Structure:
This position reports directly to the Head Teller.
4. Qualifications:
a) Excellent communication skills.
b) High school diploma with strong proficiency in Math and English.
c) Basic accounting knowledge.
d) Friendly and approachable, with the ability to interact with diverse individuals.
e) Proficient in computer applications.
f) Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
