Job Summary: Townsen Memorial Hospital is seeking a skilled Endoscopy Technician to join our team in Houston, TX. As an Endoscopy Technician, you will work closely with physicians during endoscopic procedures and assist in room turnover. This is a PRN position, and the ideal candidate will have formal training as an operating room technician or endoscopy technician, with one or more years of recent clinical experience in a similar role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize workflow, problem-solve, and manage multiple ongoing priorities.
- Identify and follow manufacturers' instructions to sort, disassemble, decontaminate, rinse, and disinfect instrumentation, flexible scopes, and equipment.
- Adhere to proper handling of garbage, linen, and biohazardous materials.
- Facilitate room turnovers and follow manufacturers' recommendations for sterilization methods.
- Properly handle sterile product and ensure stock is placed in the proper location.
- Make rounds through the operating rooms and confirm instrumentation needs are met.
- Troubleshoot problems and repair equipment.
Requirements:
- Formal training as an operating room technician or endoscopy technician.
- One or more years of recent clinical experience as an operating room technician or endoscopy technician.
- Current BLS certification.
