Townsen Memorial Surgery Center - Med Center is looking to hire a PRN Endoscopy Technician for our facility in Houston, TX This position will be responsible for working alongside of the physician during endoscopic procedures and assisting in room turnover. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Organizes the workflow, problem solves and manages multiple ongoing prioritiesIdentifies and follows manufactures instructions to sort, disassemble, decontaminate, rinse and disinfect instrumentation, flexible scopes, and equipment Adheres to the proper handling of garbage, linen, and biohazardous materialsFacilitates room turnovers Follows manufacturers recommendations for sterilization methods Properly handles sterile product and ensures stock is places in the proper locationConsistently makes rounds through the operating rooms and confirms instrumentation needs are met Troubleshoots problems and repairsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Knowledge of Medical Terminology Demonstrates strong knowledge of sterile technique related to operating room preparation and proceduresDemonstrates proficiency in medical and surgical technologyDemonstrates strong knowledge of operating equipment and supplies EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Formal training as operating room technician or Endoscopy Technician preferred One or more years recent clinical experience as Operating Room Technician or Endoscopy Technician preferredCurrent BLSMust complete additional educational requirements as assigned by due datesPlease visit our website for more information:Compensation to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
