Position Overview:

As an integral member of the Allie Alligator Learning Center, the educator will be responsible for fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children.

Schedule:
Monday through Friday, Daytime

Reporting Structure:
Reports directly to the Center Director.

Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development and Execution:
  • Design and implement both short-term and long-term educational activities that align with developmental goals and the center's philosophy.
  • Create and deliver daily lesson plans that support the holistic development of each child.
  • Involve and guide assistant educators in the planning process.
Child Development Monitoring:
  • Address the emotional, social, physical, and cognitive needs of each child.
  • Conduct biannual evaluations of children's growth and development.
  • Communicate children's progress to parents through regular reports and meetings.
Classroom Oversight:
  • Establish and maintain a classroom atmosphere that reflects the program's objectives.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy space for all children.
  • Supervise and engage children during various activities.
  • Keep the classroom organized, clean, and well-equipped.
Parental Communication:
  • Maintain open lines of communication with parents regarding their child's development and any concerns.
  • Document and report any incidents or accidents.
  • Safeguard the confidentiality of all children and families.
Staff Supervision and Development:
  • Oversee assistant educators, providing mentorship and support.
  • Promote professional growth and teamwork among staff members.
  • Participate in training sessions and staff meetings actively.
Regulatory Compliance and Documentation:
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant licensing and program standards.
  • Maintain accurate records, including attendance and developmental assessments.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Prepare meals and snacks as necessary.
  • Assist with diaper changes and toilet training for younger children.
  • Inspect and replace any damaged materials.
  • Report any suspected cases of abuse or neglect to the supervisor.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma with experience in childcare or human services.

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (preferred).
  • At least 2 years of experience in a childcare environment (preferred).

Post-Hire Requirements:
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid.
  • Clearance for physical and TB tests.
  • Background checks, including fingerprinting and child abuse clearances.

Job Type:
Full-time

Compensation:
Starting at $16.00 per hour for Assistant Group Supervisors; $18.00 for Group Supervisors, based on experience and education.
