Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Floor Leader to join our Retail Operations team at BevMo by Gopuff. As a Sales Floor Leader, you will play a critical role in creating an exceptional customer experience while driving sales and delivering on business goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Customer Experience: Consistently create a welcoming environment for customers by greeting, assisting, and selling, as well as quickly responding to customer inquiries and needs.
  • Leadership Presence: Provide a strong leadership presence and control on the sales floor while ensuring that all customers receive exceptional service and all their needs are met.
  • Store Operations: Manage day-to-day store operations on the sales floor, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and POS system management.
  • Sales and Merchandising: Achieve sales targets and maximize profitability through effective selling and merchandising, using promotional and upselling techniques to help customers make purchase decisions across multiple categories.
  • Team Collaboration: Partner with store support teams to increase sales, drive/promote merchandise categories, and expand markets.
  • Expense Management: Support the Store Manager in helping manage store expenses and budgets, including labor costs, supplies, and operational expenses.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and participate in inventory management activities to minimize out-of-stock situations and overstocking.
  • Staff Development: Support the store manager in training store staff, including providing feedback, coaching, and providing input on performance evaluations.
  • Store Appearance: Ensure all pricing, signage, and displays are correct at all times.
  • Inventory Replenishment: Receive regular vendor deliveries and stock sales floor in a timely manner.
  • Inventory Control: Responsible for controlling inventory stock levels and reordering as necessary within budget.
  • Compliance: Enforce all company policies and procedures, including health, safety, and security.
  • Store Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming store environment.
Requirements:
  • Financial and Business Acumen: Ability to evaluate financial and business indicators and translate data into actionable information to drive results.
  • Problem Solving and Decision Quality: Able to use rigorous logic and methods to solve problems with effective solutions.
  • Relationship Management: Able to build constructive and effective relationships.
  • Leadership and Influence: Ability to influence at all levels, as well as a demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team and be assertive in driving successful management strategies.
  • Communication: Demonstrates strong listening, written, and oral communication skills.
Qualifications:
  • Management Experience: 3+ years of management experience.
  • Retail or Hospitality Experience: Retail or hospitality management experience preferred.
  • Product Knowledge: Wine, spirits, and beer product knowledge preferred.
  • Availability: Ability to work full-time employment as business requires (nights, weekends, and holidays).
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of regulatory requirements related to the sale of alcohol.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Possesses strong interpersonal skills to communicate with confidence to customers and team.
  • Organizational Skills: Possesses strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 49 pounds.
