Fiber Network Inspector

We are seeking a highly skilled OSP Infrastructure Specialist to join our team at Boldyn Networks. As an OSP Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and reliability of our outside plant infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the evaluation and vetting of OSP contractors and fiber installation design vendors to ensure compliance with our standards.
- Coordinate initial site walks to identify equipment space and verify constructability, ensuring that our infrastructure meets the highest standards.
- Review OSP Engineering design and BOMs to ensure adequate Fiber construction budget baseline, guaranteeing that our projects are well-planned and executed.
- Conduct bid walks with OSP contractors and fiber installation vendors to solicit proposals and select project construction vendors, ensuring that we get the best value for our money.
- Evaluate construction proposals from vendors to review vendor qualifications, comparison of scopes of work, completeness, and accuracy of BOMs, and pricing, ensuring that our projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Ensure that proposals meet venue and jurisdiction requirements, guaranteeing that our infrastructure meets all regulatory standards.
- Evaluate design drawings (such as KMZ files), Construction Drawings, and other A&E services for accuracy and completion, ensuring that our infrastructure is designed and built to last.
- Coordinate with customers to ensure installation and integration completion, guaranteeing that our customers receive the best possible service.
- Ensure that project execution is performed in accordance with specific project Service Orders, ensuring that our projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Maintain project QA procedures and ensure that site safety requirements are upheld, guaranteeing that our infrastructure is safe and reliable.
- Coordinate punch list sites walks and manage the completion of any deficient items, ensuring that our infrastructure meets the highest standards.
- Participate in research pertaining to development of new network systems and management tools, ensuring that we stay ahead of the curve in terms of technology and innovation.
- Participate in a rotating 24/7 customer support on-call schedule, guaranteeing that our customers receive the best possible service.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science and 2-3 years of experience on field-based work with optical fiber cable and in POPs, carrier hotels, data centers, and Central Office environments.
- Digital TL1 and/or Element Management System experience.
- Optical troubleshooting skills using OTDR, OSA, BERT, and optical power meters.
- Ability to read and interpret test results.
- Passive, active OADM & ROADM DWDM systems.
- Broad understanding of optical theory, transport technologies, and the operation of optical transport systems (including SONET, SDH, DWDM).
