Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Production Material Handler I to join our team at Penumbra CPA. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels, processing material transactions, and ensuring a smooth flow of materials throughout our production areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels in Kanban supermarket and reconcile shortages or overages.
  • Process daily material issues and returns.
  • Maintain inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock; recording location of inventory.
  • Locate materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
  • Contribute to team effort by collaborating and communicating with the appropriate departments on topics such as: Material Cycle Count Scheduling, Process Improvement, Safety, Inventory/Lot Control issues, NCRs, CAPAs and Material Shortages etc.
  • Monitor and maintain Kanban inventory levels in the designated production areas where materials stored for production use.
  • Perform appropriate material transactions/functions (using computer ERP/MRP system or paper based forms/documents) required to issue, handle and/or record materials transactions.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, safe work area (i.e. sweeping, emptying trash, general cleanup).
  • Escalate issues to supervisor for resolution, as deemed necessary.
  • Able to operate material handling equipment (including electric and manual pallet jacks, hand trucks).
  • Follow all safety rules and guidelines.
  • Assist with various projects as assigned by direct supervisor.
  • Process material requests in a timely manner to support manufacturing production areas.
  • Participate in job rotation to be cross trained in secondary job responsibilities.
  • Issue materials to production floor and maintain material traceability.
  • Adhere to the Company's Quality Management System (QMS) as well as domestic and global quality system regulations, standards, and procedures.
  • Ensure other members of the department follow QMS, regulations, standard and procedures.
Requirements
  • Minimum education: High School or equivalent.
  • Minimum experience: Minimum 1-year clean room assembly experience or manufacturing.
  • Computer experience.
  • Ability to follow written instructions.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices helpful.
Working Conditions

Stockroom and cleanroom environments. Potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens. Requires some lifting and moving of up to 25 pounds. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms, and to use a computer for extended periods of time, and occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, bend or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to read, close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
