We are seeking a motivated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team at Iowa Orthopaedic Center PC. As a Registered Nurse in our Orthopedic Center, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and evaluate patients preoperatively to ensure a smooth patient flow throughout their experience.
- Review charts and ensure completeness, including surgical and anesthesia consents.
- Maintain knowledge of equipment and stay up-to-date with current perioperative nursing trends.
- Communicate effectively with staff, physicians, patients, families, and other ancillary team members.
- Conduct assessments according to facility guidelines.
- Prepare for surgical cases in an efficient manner, anticipating the needs of patients, surgeons, anesthesia, and other surgical team members.
- Provide a safe environment for patients and staff by implementing standards of aseptic technique and controlling the physical and psychological aspects of the environment.
- Circulate cases independently as assigned.
- Provide airway management assistance when applicable.
- Ongoing physiological assessment through all phases of the surgical experience, including medication and pain management.
- Participate in the performance improvement process.
- Assist with regulatory compliance throughout the organization.
- Demonstrate competence in specified computer applications.
- Adhere to all Joint Commission standards and CMS Rules and Regulations.
- R.N. with license to practice in the State of Iowa.
- OR nursing experience, preferred.
- Mandatory reporting course within the previous 3 years.
- Maintains BCLS qualification.
- Maintains ACLS qualification, or obtains within 6 months of hire.
- Excellent documentation skills.
- IV skill preferred.
