Job Overview

We are in search of a proactive and client-focused cybersecurity expert to enhance our client’s cybersecurity initiatives. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in advancing the cybersecurity framework, ensuring adherence to cyber policies, roles, operations, and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize existing security frameworks to develop tailored cybersecurity policies for specific departments. Advocate for robust security practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Design and implement a role-based cybersecurity training program for essential positions (SO, ISSO, ISSM, etc.). Create educational content that aligns with job responsibilities and fosters a culture of security awareness across the organization.
  • Thoroughly document current cybersecurity processes and procedures. Analyze workflows critically to pinpoint areas for improvement and increased efficiency.
  • Establish and manage a comprehensive compliance tracking system for critical artifacts such as POA&M, ATO, and ISA. Ensure timely completion of tasks and proactive risk management.
  • Exhibit a strong understanding of the Department of State's cybersecurity framework. Leverage this expertise to streamline operations and guide the integration of these principles within the software development environment.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • At least 8 years of experience in process development, implementation, and enhancement within a software development context, with a solid grasp of cybersecurity in government contracting.
  • Proficient in deconstructing complex processes, identifying inefficiencies, and proposing effective solutions.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, capable of collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to convey security requirements clearly across teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Government Contracting: In-depth knowledge of U.S. government cybersecurity standards and regulations.
  • DOS FAM/FAH Expertise: Familiarity with FAM/FAH and its relevance to software development.
  • Valuable certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or other relevant security credentials.
  • Agile Methodologies: Experience with Agile practices and their application within security processes.

Clearance Requirement: Active Secret clearance.
