Job Description

The Corporate Audit Services Audit Project Manager is a key role responsible for overseeing the completion of audit engagements with minimal supervision from managers. This position requires strong leadership and analytical skills to monitor progress, assess work performed, and provide coaching and on-the-job training to team members.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervising audit staff in the completion of audit engagements, ensuring high-quality work is delivered timely
  • Assessing work performed by staff, providing coaching notes on scope, accuracy, and completeness
  • Performing reviews to ensure work contains relevant facts to support audit scope and conclusions, adhering to internal audit policies and procedures
  • Reviewing issues to ensure potential exposures and significance are included, root causes are identified, and operationally effective and cost-effective actions are developed into appropriate recommendations
  • Completing or assisting managers in planning audit engagements, including identifying and analyzing business processes, key risks, and critical controls
  • Assisting managers in reporting and wrap-up phases of audits, including disposition of issues and drafting audit reports
  • Monitoring progress of audit engagements against plan and schedule, making necessary adjustments and completing work paper reviews on a timely basis
  • Providing on-the-job training for staff, including business knowledge of products, services, and delivery systems, company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, and formal/informal control frameworks
  • Collaborating across the three lines of defense regarding business processes, risks, and controls, coordinating audit activities by integrating other internal audit subject matter teams
  • Managing the team's workload to assist other audit teams when resources are needed for areas of higher risk
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Seven or more years of applicable experience in internal auditing or a related field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously, proven adaptability to changing priorities
  • Ability to build and continuously improve working relationships with internal audit peers, business line leaders, and partners
  • Thorough understanding of Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Standards and the common definition of internal controls
