Job Overview

Vail Resorts is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lift Maintenance Supervisor to lead our team of mechanics and electricians in performing all facets of maintenance on our system of lifts.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems, excellent leadership and communication skills, and a passion for the ski industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise a team of mechanical and electrical technicians
  • Manage multiple projects and changing priorities
  • Responsible for hiring and team scheduling, performance management and evaluation
  • Plan and execute scheduled, unscheduled, and emergency maintenance and repairs
  • Exhibit the highest level of expertise in all areas
  • Create, lead, and document training for the team
  • Ensure compliance with Vail Resorts' Health and Safety and Crested Butte Lift Maintenance policies and procedures
Requirements
  • High School Degree or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of mechanical or electrical experience
  • At least 2 years leadership/supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of PLC and industrial controls
  • Proficient with all types of hand and power tools as well as shop equipment
  • Proficient in hydraulic system troubleshooting and component replacement
  • Magnetic particle, ultrasonic, or other non-destructive testing experience
  • Valid driver's license
  • Computer proficiency
  • Fluent in oral and written English
  • Ability to work at heights up to 100 Feet
  • Excellent knowledge of hydraulics, rigging, and troubleshooting skills
  • Able to work in a variety of outdoor mountain weather conditions
