Fiscal Assistant

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a highly skilled Fiscal Assistant to join our team. As a Fiscal Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting our department's financial operations. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing checklists for payment, reviewing bills for accuracy, and developing spreadsheets to track financial data. You will also be responsible for contacting vendors to resolve disputes and mailing checks to providers and vendors to facilitate payment.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare checklists for payment and review bills for accuracy
• Develop spreadsheets to track financial data, including revenues and expenditures
• Contact vendors to resolve disputes and clarify financial information
• Mail checks to providers and vendors to facilitate payment
Additional Duties
• Track revenues and maintain documentation to support financial reporting
• Maintain spreadsheets on children in placement and IV-E adoption files
• Set up savings accounts for children and maintain a spreadsheet for expenditures
Requirements
• Two years of experience performing bookkeeping or clerical accounting work
• Associate degree in accounting or business administration, including or supplemented by 6 credits in accounting
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working in a government agency or non-profit organization
• Knowledge of financial software and systems
• Strong communication and organizational skills
