Averitt Express is seeking experienced CDL-A local truck drivers to join our team. As a local driver, you'll have the opportunity to develop long-term relationships with our customers and enjoy daily home time.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Load and unload freight, with a lift requirement of 80 lbs
  • Move freight, with a force requirement of 54 lbs
  • Open and close trailer doors, with a force requirement of 46 lbs
  • Enter and exit commercial motor vehicles
  • Count and complete bill of lading and fuel tickets
  • Secure extra shipments and complete delivery receipts
  • Perform pre-trip inspections and drive safely
  • Operate forklifts and fuel trucks
Requirements:
  • 21 years of age
  • Minimum 4 months (1 year preferred) of tractor-trailer experience within the past 3 years
  • Class A CDL required
  • Hazmat and tanker endorsements preferred
  • No convictions for reckless driving within the past 5 years
  • No convictions for DUI within the past 5 years
  • No suspensions or revocations within the past 5 years
  • No serious violations within the previous 12 months
  • No more than 3 moving violations within the past 3 years
  • No Preventable DOT Recordable accidents within the past 3 years
