Job Overview

As a Fiber Optic Project Manager at Lightworx LLC, you will provide leadership and guidance in implementing departmental projects, reporting directly to executive management. You will oversee the successful delivery of construction projects on time and on budget, managing vendors, contractors, and construction schedules. Engagements with municipalities, stakeholders, HOA's, homeowners, and utility providers will be a key aspect of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and manage municipal locates to enable OSP construction
  • Engage with utilities providers to understand requirements, costs, process, and timelines for shared services
  • Manage and facilitate the 'make ready' process with the project management and engineering team
  • Municipality, Utility, and state departmental engagements to gain an understanding of construction limits and permit requirements

Construction Management:

  • Create and manage project schedules and reports
  • Manage project resources to ensure timely and budget-friendly project delivery
  • Ensure construction compliance and minimize risk
  • Implement and enforce health and safety regulations
  • Enforce and maintain construction standards and practices
  • Performance manage staff and contractors for non-performance related issues

Stakeholder Engagement and Reporting:

  • Manage stakeholder and client relations
  • Manage community engagement and escalations
  • Draw up and collaborate on detailed reports and feedback to clients and stakeholders on project delivery, budgets, costs, issues, solutions, risks, mitigations, and timelines

Vendor Management:

  • Manage contractor relationships
  • Negotiate contractor rates and requirements
  • Source and onboard vendors, suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors when required
  • Execute on contractor non-performance issues, mitigations, penalties, and improvement strategies

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of fiber project management experience required
  • Telecommunications and utilities experience
  • Permitting, right of ways, encroachment for UG and aerial communications construction
  • Utility pole engagements and make ready experience
  • Knowledge of state construction laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of construction health and safety regulations
  • Experience managing projects and project resources
  • Experience managing contractors and suppliers
  • Contract and payment term negotiations
  • OSP and ISP civils construction experience
  • Experience engaging with local, private, public, or federal agencies when executing projects OSP
  • Proven history of managing staff and contractors

Beneficial Qualifications:

  • Utilities construction experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Fiber tech related, PON, GPON, EPON
