Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at NYU Langone Health System. As a Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for operating radiologic equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images and performing routine diagnostic procedures according to established standards and practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate radiology equipment to produce quality images as ordered/according to department protocols
  • Produce quality images for interpretation by the Radiologist
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Instruct and supervise Radiography students in clinical practicum
  • Work with Radiography students in completing exams
  • Assist in the care and maintenance of the facilities equipment and supplies while abiding by WUH infection control policy and procedure
  • Maintain proper environment of care
  • Follow WUH infection control policy and procedure
  • Initiate Standard Precautions when required
  • Accurate utilization of the Radiology Information Systems
  • Verify proper exam was completed, amount of contrast if used is correct, and proper code is attached
  • Arrive and complete procedures in a timely fashion
  • Proper and timely utilization of the PACs system allowing for Radiologist interpretation
  • Verify all images are transferred to PACs in a timely matter
  • Practice effective radiation protection in utilizing appropriate shielding devices when possible
  • Monitor exposure and follows department policy regarding pregnant patients
  • Prepare patient for exam using proper positioning/immobilization and giving proper instructions throughout
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Required Technical Diploma Graduate of AMA approved school of Radiology or Imaging Services
  • Current New York State Radiologic technician license OR New Graduate with temporary Permit
  • Must become registered before expiration of temporary permit
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist ARRT required within 6 month of hire
  • Strong communication both written and oral, problem solving and customer service skills
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Thorough knowledge of Radiography equipment
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of Radiologic Technology experience

The salary range for this role is $85,325.36 - $95,925.36 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
