Job Summary:

1st Class Security is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Security Officer to join our team. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for identifying and preventing shoplifting, as well as interacting with local law enforcement agencies as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct floor patrols to identify potential shoplifters
  • Monitor Closed Circuit TV to prevent and investigate shoplifting incidents
  • Write accurate and detailed reports of incidents
  • Interact with local law enforcement agencies as needed
  • Provide courtroom testimony as required
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently

Requirements:

  • Pre-employment criminal background and drug screen
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for up to 3-4 hours at a time
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to communicate clearly and accurately through verbal and written means
  • Ability to write legible, accurate, and easily understood reports
  • Must be assertive, yet controlled in dealing with confrontation
  • Must be trustworthy and able to work under little or no direct supervision
  • Attendance for scheduled shifts. Tardiness and absenteeism is not tolerated
  • Previous loss prevention experience a plus, but not a requirement
  • High school diploma or equivalent (minimum)
  • Criminal Justice or related studies a plus
